KMS Misconceptions 101

There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to playing KMS and 80% (no, it’s not a real statistic) are the reason why people who want to join KMS don’t. Here’s a list of misconceptions about Korean MapleStory.

  • “I need a proxy to play KMS!” That is incorrect! Because a KSSN is required to sign up KMS does not have any IP restrictions like other versions.
  • “You need to speak/read Korean in order to play KMS, durrrrr!” INCORRECT! Although knowing Korean helps, most English KMSers do not know how to speak or read Korean or play the game perfectly fine.
  • “Installing and registering for KMS is tooooo hardddd and not worth the trouble.” Installing KMS is just like installing GMS or any other game and there are plenty of guides to help you register easily.
  • There’s a small English community in KMS. There is a large community of active English players that are on every day. They number in the hundreds.
  • “Well, I can’t buy NX so what’s the point?” There is a website that allows you to buy NX cards online for KMS and a guide for charging them.

More misconceptions will be added. If you know of a misconception that is not posted here, comment on this page or send an e-mail to falconperch@maple-news.com.
